Our client, a family-owned company and a leader in professional uniform cleaning and maintenance, is looking for a Chief Electromechanic for its Montreal plant. Are you looking for a new challenge with exciting career growth opportunities? This might be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Chief Electromechanic will supervise and manage a team of 3 mechanics and 1 general maintenance coordinator. They will oversee daily operations, implement maintenance procedures, and perform precise industrial maintenance work on laundry equipment. They will also carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on both equipment and building infrastructure, including inspection, assembly/disassembly, and other related duties inherent to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Install and repair production equipment;
  • Coordinate routine and preventive maintenance of machinery;
  • Perform emergency troubleshooting to avoid operational downtime;
  • Diagnose breakdowns and ensure appropriate follow-up;
  • Implement equipment modification or repair projects to improve operational productivity (continuous improvement initiatives);
  • Supervise the mechanical team;
  • Ensure strict adherence to procedures and documentation of repair interventions.

Required skills

  • 5 years of experience as an electromechanic in a laundry environment (an asset);
  • Bilingual (spoken and written);
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical components;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Familiarity with the City of Montreal’s wastewater regulations (wastewater discharge permits);
  • Basic knowledge of electricity and programmable logic controllers (PLC);
  • Autonomous and versatile;
  • Organized and engaged;
  • Strong sense of responsibility;
  • Detail-oriented;
  • Leadership skills.
