Maintenance Supervisor – Packaging Industry

Hera Human Resources, headhunters in Montreal, led this recruitment mandate for a multinational in the packaging industry employing more than 30,000 people worldwide. The position of Day Maintenance Supervisor reported to the Maintenance Manager and involved the complete management of a team of nine technicians.

Job Responsibilities

The maintenance supervisor was responsible for the day-to-day planning of maintenance work, the safe completion of assigned tasks, and the management of preventive and corrective maintenance priorities. The role included coordinating technical interventions on production equipment, tracking work orders, and optimizing maintenance methods to reduce downtime.

Personnel management included the daily supervision of technicians, the evaluation of their performance, ongoing training and compliance with occupational health and safety standards. The supervisor also participated in continuous improvement projects and collaborated with the engineering teams for the implementation of sustainable technical solutions.

Qualifications sought

The ideal candidate would have a degree in industrial maintenance, electromechanics or a related discipline, with substantial experience in maintenance supervision in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of CMMS systems, industrial safety standards, and operations management skills were essential for this leadership position.
