Purchasing and Procurement Assistant
Description
Reporting to the CEO, the role provides support to the Purchasing Director and the overall planning, organization and management of inventory, purchasing and inventory as well as the development of brand new products.
Responsibilities
- Assess immediate needs, demand analysis;
- Carry out purchases and manage the inventory of products related to the company (raw materials, packaging);
- Plan production in order to meet customer needs “just in time”;
- Negotiate and secure the company’s needs in the short to medium term;
- Build mutual trust, be a partner (informed of our developments, future projects);
- Regular communication with suppliers;
- Ensure regular orders (minimum inventory);
- Establish strategic partners, suppliers;
- Manage the procurement versus payment term (Purchase discount, inventory);
- Ensure the flow of communication (Customer Service – Sales – Demand-Supply-Production Managers);
- Any other related tasks.
Requirements:
- Procurement or management training or other training combined with relevant experience;
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position;
- Be bilingual (English/French);
- Strong ability to manage deadlines and pressure;
- Must be an excellent communicator and negotiator;
- Functions requiring excellent judgment;
- Have a lot of initiative and a sense of urgency;
- Analytical mind.
