Corporate Purchasing Director
Description
Reporting to the Director of Global Operations, the Director of Corporate Procurement is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize costs while minimizing risk and ensuring quality. He defines negotiation strategies, assesses risks and concludes agreements that are advantageous to the company. This role involves working closely with multiple departments, including product development, manufacturing, logistics, and finance, to align procurement objectives with the organization’s overall strategy. He coaches and develops a team of buyers, fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.
The Corporate Purchasing Director monitors performance indicators related to raw material costs, purchasing efficiency and supplier management. It analyzes this data to identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
Main responsibilities
- Define and implement the procurement strategy and purchasing policies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate beneficial agreements.
- Define and communicate performance objectives in relation to the processes under his/her responsibility.
- Mobilize and coach your team to achieve performance objectives.
- Ensure the development of team members and ensure the proper application of negotiation and collaboration practices with suppliers.
- Drive the digital transformation of procurement processes and the supply chain by integrating emerging technologies.
- Monitor supplier and market developments to identify opportunities for optimization, cost savings, and risk reduction.
- Implement continuous actions to optimize purchasing costs and guarantee the resilience of the supply chain.
- Support the purchasing teams in the various manufacturing and distribution units.
- Deploy the company’s sustainability commitments to suppliers.
Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of business processes and supply chains in a technological environment (electronic, optical or mechanical).
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to identify opportunities for cost reduction and supply optimization.

Requirements
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management. Professional certification is an asset.
- Experience : Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in a management position in a high-tech manufacturing environment (electronics, optics or instrumentation).
- Assets : International corporate experience and knowledge of Asian and Mexican markets.
- Languages : Bilingualism (French and English) required.
