Are you an HR leader with a passion for unionized manufacturing environments and want to make a strategic and concrete impact? This position offers a unique opportunity to lead the human resources function across Canada within a growing company in the agri-food sector.
Your role
Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for the overall management of the HR function for the production sites, the head office and a specialized training center. This role, both strategic and operational, will lead you to act as a business partner to management, playing a key role in the development, implementation and optimization of HR practices.
Your main responsibilities

Define and coordinate annual HR priorities across Canada, in line with business objectives.

Ensure the compliance of HR practices with labor, health, safety and environmental laws.

Manage organizational development processes: talent management, succession planning, performance and retention.

Oversee the recruitment and onboarding of unionized and non-unionized teams.

Acts as a spokesperson in labour relations and conducts collective bargaining.

Oversee HR activities: training, total rewards, benefits, talent mobilization and development.

Develop and supervise the HR team in place, ensuring their professional progression.

Support the company culture through engagement initiatives aligned with organizational values.

Ensure compliance with internal HR policies and support managers in their application.

Manage organizational transformation projects and foster a healthy work environment.

Actively participate in HR budget planning and track human resources costs.

Collaborate in achieving quality standards related to industry requirements.
Desired profile
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations or related field

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment, including 5 years in a management position
-
CHRP or CIRC designation required
-
In-depth knowledge of provincial legislation and HR best practices

Mobilizing leadership and ability to influence stakeholders

Proven experience in negotiating collective agreements

Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Bilingualism (French/English) required

Advanced proficiency in the MS Office suite
