Position Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for providing day-to-day support on all HR matters to their internal clients, including their client group, while being fiscally responsible. He or she will also be responsible for aligning the HR strategy with the business strategy in place whose main objective is to attract, retain and engage employees. The incumbent will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including in the following areas; employee processes, culture, talent acquisition and retention, performance, learning, development and training, goal setting, compliance, internal communications, etc. He or she will act as the HR Director supervising an HR team for employees and managers and ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner. The HRD will support supervisors in employee relations through consistent interpretation and application of employment policy and practices. He/she provides advice and coaching to managers on staffing and the appropriate management of employee relations issues, conflict resolution and all other human resources related matters. The HRD is a trusted partner and builds strong partnerships by fostering trust and accountability with all stakeholders through the implementation of best practices and cutting-edge tools, while demonstrating exemplary leadership. The HRD will work closely with Payroll and the Legal Department as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain essential HR data and analyze the various relevant KPIs;
- Participate in individual and organizational development plans;
- Establishes, supports and manages integration and orientation programs;
- Administer and support skills development by including relevant training;
- Collaborate, establish and maintain competitive compensation in accordance with company guidelines;
- Lead roll-out and collaborate with executives on the performance review process, including goal setting and annual appraisal processes, as well as reviewing employee compensation within the pay equity and pay structure framework;
- Work with managers to ensure employee productivity and performance;
- Analyze base salaries, establish bonuses and incentives;
- Participate in the implementation of appropriate group insurance plans;
- Ensure the administrative follow-up of CNESST files;
- Establish and manage all policies and employee handbook;
- Manage and ensure the implementation of the Company’s Code of Ethics, provide investigation and legal support to any complaint under the NTC, the OHSA or an internal complaint;
- Stay up-to-date on labour laws;
- Inform managers of any changes to labour laws;
- Deploy, support and administer employee engagement (e.g., through an internal survey);
- Be the anchor for all communications related to HR and its activities;
- Support executives in workforce needs planning, hiring process management and bid preparation;
- Manage and develop the employer’s brand image, particularly on social networks;
- Establish and develop relationships with colleges, universities and associations/organizations to build a talent pool and participate in job fairs;
- Ensure that organizational changes are reflected in organizational charts;
- Ensure that job patterns are kept up to date;
- Resolve HR issues with managers related to complex and sensitive issues;
- Manage special HR projects and establish divisional goals and personal goals for individuals under the direction of the HR Director.
Qualifications:
- Minimum eight (8) years as a generalist or five (5) years as an HRD (essential);
- University degree in human resources, industrial resources or any other relevant field;
- Member of the Order of Human Resources (an asset)
- Ability to manage an HR team;
- Bilingualism French/English;
- Ability to work independently and have a spirit of initiative;
- Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Knowledge of Maestro software (an asset).
