The incumbent is responsible for administering, coordinating and maximizing all activities of the unit’s trucking operations in Canada and the United States. The person will have to:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain close relationships with all managers, valet and future valets;
• Respond to requests from valets and/or redirect them to the appropriate people;

• Manage the fleet of trucks and about a hundred employees (drivers and dispatchers);
• Develop performance measures for his/her division;
• Maximize the profitability of its operations;
• Propose and implement effective solutions in a context of continuous improvement;
• Meet regularly with its employees, particularly the division’s truck drivers, to inform them of their performance against the standard;
• Optimize the operational efficiency of the department;
• Follow up with customers to ensure that transportation movements are carried out in compliance with the applicable rules;
• Apply measures that comply with federal occupational health and safety laws and regulations and those governing labour relations that comply with the collective agreement;
• Validation of the routes taken by the drivers;
• Collaboration in the management of preventive maintenance;
• Collaboration in the management of security rounds;
• Collaboration in the management of daily logs;
• Manage all responsibilities related to the position.

DESIRED PROFILE

• Have 10 years of experience in a similar position;
• Be able to communicate in English orally and in writing;
• Have computer literacy;
• Have geographic knowledge (United States and Canada);
• Have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, PC Miler, Isaac
