We are seeking a Director of Operational Excellence to lead a site-level transformation program and ensure the full deployment of an operational excellence system aligned with regional and local master plans.
This strategic role focuses on strengthening operational capabilities to achieve world-class performance through continuous improvement, disciplined execution, and loss reduction. The successful candidate will act as a change leader, supporting site leadership, middle management, and key teams in embedding best-in-class operational practices across the organization.
Support the review, deployment, and coaching of operational excellence work processes across all site pillars.
Lead the site’s strategic goal-setting and deployment process using a structured planning methodology (e.g., Hoshin).
Ensure all performance indicators (KPIs) are accurately reported and delivered on time.
Generate performance analyses to support continuous improvement actions using balanced scorecards and dashboards.
Ensure root cause analysis (RCA) is systematically conducted with site leaders and operational teams for all key KPIs.
Coordinate daily management routines (team meetings, shift reviews, performance huddles) and monthly operational reviews.
Identify and make visible loss-reduction opportunities across the supply chain through loss mapping and productivity pipelines.
Act as the site-level representative for the operational excellence deployment program with local leadership and corporate stakeholders.
Play a key role in the implementation and adoption of digital tools (MES and other Industry 4.0 initiatives).
Conduct regular self-assessments using operational maturity and health-check tools, defining action plans to close performance gaps.
Promote internal and external benchmarking activities to identify and deploy best practices.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
5 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience deploying continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM – asset).
Strong background in operational excellence frameworks such as Integrated Work Systems (IWS), World Class Manufacturing (WCM), or transformation leadership.
Experience managing initiatives in multicultural and matrixed environments.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word), statistical software (Minitab or equivalent), and project management tools; SAP experience is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to lead programs through influence without direct authority.
Strong coaching, facilitation, and change leadership capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Advanced English proficiency required for interaction with global partners and stakeholders.
