Food Security Coordinator – FILLED

Hera Human Resources, an executive search firm in Montreal, led this recruitment mandate for an agri-food company located in Saint-Hyacinthe. The Food Safety Coordinator position reported to the Director of Quality Assurance and had full responsibility for the coordination and implementation of the plant’s food safety programs.

Primary Responsibilities

The incumbent was responsible for the development and validation of the HACCP plan, the oversight of the environmental program, and the management of food safety initiatives. This role required working closely with production teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry certifications such as BRC and SQF.

Other responsibilities included training staff in Good Manufacturing Practices, conducting internal audits, managing non-conformances, and preparing for audits of customers and regulatory bodies. The coordinator was responsible for maintaining up-to-date documentation related to food security programs and proposing continuous improvements to the processes in place.

Qualifications sought

The ideal candidate would have a university degree in food science, microbiology or a related discipline, with relevant experience in food safety in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in HACCP systems, BRC/SQF standards and Good Manufacturing Practices was essential. The position required communication, operational management and problem-solving skills to ensure excellence in quality standards.
