Benefits Administration Coordinator

The Canadian Benefits and Pension Administration Coordinator will provide support to the Canadian Benefits Specialist, Pension Specialists, HR Shared Services and Payroll on all matters related to system interfaces with external program administrators. changes to rules in the IT management system and reconciliations or calculations of cash contribution rebates.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the administration of Canadian health and wellness benefit plans, including health, drug, dental, life and disability insurance through third-party providers.
- Collaborate with the Centre of Expertise’s Canadian Benefits Advisor, the Centre of Expertise’s Pension Services and Payroll, Accounting and HRIS as required, for the implementation of compliance, operational audits, data analytics, in addition to complex benefits and pension administration activities.
- Resolve complex benefits and pension issues that require a thorough investigation via email, telephone and other means of communication.
- Validate the compliance of system data to ensure that results are adequate for various pension, 401-k, and health and wellness benefits claims.
- Prepare electronic transfer requests for each of the appropriate plans and ensure the accuracy of the data transferred; in addition to making manual corrections in the files.
- Develop process documentation and reference materials for all aspects of benefits and pension administration in Canada.
- Review invoices, monthly/quarterly reconciliation, and financing processes.
- Implement compliance and operational audits, in addition to data analytics with respect to transactional activity.
- Review the supplier’s processes and review any exceptions or errors; Ensure that information on demographic changes, data collection, contributions, wages and hours worked is consistent.
- Participate in the annual validation of pension adjustments and taxable benefit amounts.
- Assist and support internal and external auditors during annual audits.

Professional experience and qualifications
- Hold a college or university degree in administration, accounting or a related field;
- Have at least two (2) years of experience in the field of pensions and benefits;
- Proficiency in the SAP system is an invaluable asset;
- Enjoy working with numbers and systems;
- Be recognized for your problem-solving skills;
- Fluency in French and English (oral and written).
- More than two (2) years of proven technical experience with HRIS systems and processes, an SAP interface, Easy Vista or similar shared services systems is preferred;
- Have advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
