Job brief

Under the supervision of the Health, Safety and Environment Department, the OHS Advisor plays a key role in the development and monitoring of accident prevention initiatives and compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and review training related to internal health and safety programs, ensure their logistics and follow-up.
• Manage fire and explosion risk records.
• Organize vaccination sessions, audiometric tests and distribution of hearing protection equipment.
• Identify, account for and audit risks, propose appropriate control measures.
• Coordinate and carry out risk analyses, accident investigations and ensure that data is updated.
• Conduct monthly inspections (e.g., first aid kits).
• Carry out awareness-raising and prevention actions in the field.
• Actively participate in the OHS Committee.
• Coordinate and perform various health and safety audits and inspections, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Manage the lockout program and ensure compliance.

Desired profile

• Diploma in Occupational Health, Health and Safety or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment in a similar position.
• Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental laws and regulations.
• Ability to carry out several projects at the same time with rigor and autonomy.
• Team player and ability to work collaboratively with different stakeholders.
• Fluency in French and ability to communicate in English (oral and written).
• Good command of computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OHS software).
