Quality Assurance Director
Description
The Director of Quality Assurance (QA) leads the implementation of quality management systems and food safety standards for a major food production facility, ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards. He/she also oversees regional programs and supports other facilities in the region.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the QA team to achieve the plant’s quality goals and promote a culture of quality/food safety.
- Work with plant management to build a culture of quality and provide technical support to operations.
- Oversee the implementation of quality management and food safety systems, as well as the day-to-day activities of the QA team.
- Manage food safety incidents, including customer complaints, by implementing effective corrective actions.
- Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality/food safety standards.
- Prepare the plant for regulatory and customer visits, ensuring that all requirements are met.
- Track and report QA KPIs to all stakeholders
Profile sought:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline (chemistry, biology, microbiology, food science) or equivalent.
- 5 to 10 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Manager, preferably in the food sector.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (GFSI, FSSC22000), HACCP and current regulations.
- Management skills, leadership, and the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bilingualism French-English required.
- Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), knowledge of SAP an asset.
