Energy Manager
Description
In an agri-food production environment, the incumbent is responsible for reducing the energy intensity and carbon footprint of the site. He implements best practices, pilots energy saving projects and proposes innovative solutions, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a multi-year plan to reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions.
- Monitor and analyze site energy data.
- Identify optimization opportunities and manage energy efficiency projects.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and structure an energy management system that complies with ISO 50001.
- Raise awareness and train internal teams (operators, technicians, engineering, purchasing) in good energy practices.
- Monitor and communicate energy performance and key indicators on a regular basis.
- Coordinate daily updates with maintenance and production.
- Lead monthly meetings with management to monitor progress and propose new initiatives.
- Collaborate with the group’s energy teams to align strategies and ensure reporting.
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors to identify high-performance equipment and deploy projects.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in conjunction with control bodies and auditors.
- Collaborate with external consultants to conduct audits and identify areas for improvement.
Profile sought:
- University degree in industrial engineering, environmental engineering or equivalent.
- Expertise in energy management, technologies and industrial consumption.
- Experience in managing energy optimization projects, from design to implementation.
- Strong skills in energy data analysis and identification of inefficiencies.
- Good knowledge of local energy regulations (an asset).
- Rigor in document management and compliance processes.
