Purchasing Manager – Manufacturing Industry

Hera Human Resources, headhunters in Montreal, is looking for a Purchasing Manager for a major manufacturing company in Quebec. This strategic position is responsible for all procurement activities and managing relationships with key suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities

The Purchasing Manager will develop and execute the procurement strategy, negotiate contracts with strategic suppliers, and optimize purchasing costs. The person will supervise a team of buyers, manage tendering processes, evaluate supplier performance and ensure security of supply. The role includes collaborating with logistics, production, and engineering to align procurement with operational needs.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in administration, supply chain management or a related discipline, complemented by a minimum of eight years of experience in purchasing management in a manufacturing environment. Certification in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and knowledge of raw material markets are essential for this position.
