Role

  • Participate in on-site work such as preventive maintenance, pre-operational checks, troubleshooting and modification of power distribution equipment.
  • Support and participate in the development of technical solutions that will meet the needs of the clients as well as in the evaluation of the work.
  • Manage your projects: purchasing equipment, planning work, implementing safety measures, executing work and preparing the report.

Qualifications

  • Hold a DEC or a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in the field of service on medium voltage electrical switchgear.
  • Have health and safety training on construction sites.
  • Being a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec is an asset.
  • Holding an electrician’s card outside of construction is an asset.
  • Hold a Class 5 driver’s license.

Skills

  • Experience in testing electrical equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of control and protection systems.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, CSA, ANSI, IEEE standards for electrical equipment construction, and NETA and IEEE standards for electrical equipment testing.
  • Knowledge of oil transformers and/or high-voltage electrical equipment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of safety rules in an industrial environment.
  • Aptitude for manual and mechanical work.
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, 2D drawing with AutoCAD, software for programming protection relays and test devices.
  • Ability to communicate and maintain the relationship with customers.
  • Excellent team player.
